The Story Behind El Mago Guitar

Music became more than performance for me.
It became a way to express identity, emotion, and connection.

Who Is El Mago

El Mago was never created as a character.

It became a reflection of transformation through music.

For me, guitar was never about perfection or becoming the most technical musician in the room.

It was about expression.
Emotion.
Connection.

The name “El Mago” represents the idea that music can create something words sometimes cannot:

a feeling,
a memory,
a moment of connection between people.

Through every performance, every improvisation, and every stage of life, music became the language I used to discover my own voice.

Where It All Began

My journey with music started long before I understood theory, technique, or even what it meant to be a musician.

Music became a shelter for me.

I remember family reunions filled with songs, emotion, and discovery. I wasn’t focused on artists, genres, or technical perfection — I was focused on how music made people feel.

Even early on, I realized music creates something deeply personal between people.

It creates connection.

Feeling Out of Place

As I grew older, I faced something many artists quietly experience: the feeling of not being enough.

I didn’t come from a traditional musical background.

While studying engineering, I often passed by university choirs and formal music spaces, but I never felt like I truly belonged there.

I admired music deeply, but I also felt disconnected from the traditional path many musicians followed.

Conversations with experienced musicians sometimes left me feeling intimidated rather than inspired.

For a long time, I questioned whether I was truly “qualified” to call myself an artist.

Finding My Own Path

Because I lacked traditional resources and formal direction, I began teaching myself.

What once felt like a limitation slowly became one of my greatest strengths.

I explored music through instinct, experimentation, emotion, and personal expression.

Over time, I realized that no two artists are meant to sound the same.

Comparison destroys creativity.

Authenticity develops it.

The more I embraced my own voice, the more music began opening doors in my life — not only professionally, but personally.

Music Beyond Language

Why I Share My Journey

Moving to a new country expanded my understanding of music even further.

Sometimes I didn’t fully know the language.
Sometimes I carried an accent.

But music always connected people before words ever could.

That experience taught me something powerful:

music is a language not everyone speaks fluently — but almost everyone understands emotionally.

Over time, I realized I wasn’t alone in these fears and doubts.

I met countless musicians who felt creatively stuck, intimidated, or afraid to express themselves fully.

Many weren’t lacking talent.

They were lacking confidence, guidance, and a safe space to grow.

That realization inspired me to begin building resources, programs, workshops, and communities designed to help artists reconnect with their creativity and discover their own voice.

Today, El Mago Guitar continues exploring music as a form of emotion, identity, faith, creativity, and human connection. Not to become the “perfect musician” — but to create something honest.

And to help others discover their own artistic voice along the way. Because music is not only something we hear.

Sometimes, it becomes part of who we are.
